Welcome to my profile. So, who am I?
Hi nice to meet you! Who am I? I am a native Polish, open-minded person with a special place in a heart for Scotland and Scottish people. I am a passionate about coding -individual that wants to live a life in full. I am a good team member and a person that is easy to work with. I have got good communication skills.
My journey to where I am now was not straight. I used to work at the construction site, as a food delivery rider or in a factory. To improve my English language, I passed an IELTS certificate and attended ESOL English language classes for 3 years. For last three years I attend English language meet ups - twice a week.
In 2020 I started my journey with coding at Edinburgh College. I decided and already knew at that time, that I want to learn skills that will be in demand in the marketplace, and I was determined to finish and get a qualification.
I passed my level 6, HNC and HND years with all highest marks. I took part in an ERASMUS project called Story Valley. I learned a lot about front-end and back-end. But I did not know how much opportunity this course gives me.
In 2023 I was accepted as an associate student (as part of the agreement between Edinburgh College and Edinburgh Napier University) to study Web Design and Development directly from year 3. In June 2023 I was accepted for a placement year with The University of Edinburgh that lasted one year and was extended for another half a year. I completed successfully Web Designed and Development with good marks and I am waiting for results from Honours Project and evaluation of my project deliverable called MahJongEuropa website.
Overall placement year gave me solid understanding how working in office will look like. I learned a lot about Drupal and content management systems. During the third year at Napier, I learned how to create a web app in Python and Flask library.
I am very passionate about coding – I like to solve IT problems, to try different approaches, keep the neat structure, read the code what it does or analyse step by step. I also like working in a team – to cooperate and building together something extraordinary.
Other skills I develop in coding are for example in languages like C++, C#, PHP, JavaScript. I always try to keep my knowledge fresh by solving SoloLearn courses. I used to experiment with Arduino Uno and LCD displays. I like creating designs in Figma and using graphic software. My Honours Project deliverable (web app) was developed in React.js.
On top of that I am quite active person – I like cycling, traveling, jogging. Whenever I have got spare time, I am doing some work in my garden or experimenting with DIY like for example building a shed with my friends. Finally, I hope now you know me a little bit better, and I created a positive image of a potential employee.
